Claire Inc

Caution: Claire incorruptible may make you lose all money... and maybe sense.

(All clothing/images: claireinc)

I had to warn you first!

Most of you will know by now, that I don't like to share. It's a bad trait in me, but if I'm on to a good thing I don't like to give it up. When I find a great clothing haunt, I show (my purchases) I tell (how much I love them) but I only tell enough for people to fawn over (and not to fawn to) ... what? Bad Princess, I know. My reasoning is that if I tell to many, there's less for me, no? (don't judge a shopaholic).

I stumbled across Claire Inc a while ago on eBay and it soon became my favourite *does happy dance shop. If you're looking for rare (and I mean rare) high end designer items Claire Inc is the shop for you. Yes, you may pay slightly more than your piggy bank allows, but it's not the type of vintage outlet that has neon dashikis on it's bill!

Out are frumpy, second hand designer rip-offs and in are vintage Moschino, Lacroix, Sonia Rykiel, Ossie Clark, Missoni and many more one-off gems (even their models are amazing).

Coveted Moschino belt ... check!

Yum Yum Yum!

The lovely Belinda let me know that there was a whole website of amazingness that I had been missing out on too. And guess what...? They're bloggers!

Shop Here and Here

P.S I nearly didn't post the Moschino bag, for fear of not having it in my life if one of you shiny's decided to buy it. I will kill for it... just saying!

Horror Story

Looks like a Trib Too, smells like a Trib Too, tastes like a Trib Too… is a Trib Too?

WRONG!!

I'm going to tell a little story about a very bad thing that happened to ME.

So like many, I use eBay to find collectors items (yes some shoes are collectors items) and genuinely sold out/hard to find items such as patent YSL Tribute Too pumps.

The story goes… I find them on eBay, I pay kindly for them and unkindly for their shipping (within the UK might I add) and they’re … yes, you guessed it- FAKES!

Personally, I’ve always been against fakes; not because I’m a snob but just because I'd rather do without (there’s also a certain age when wearing fakes are just not acceptable).

I died.

How did I know they were fakes I hear you ask?

Right, so I know eBay sells fakes (their pretty easy to spot in time) and on a whim I thought I’d go into YSL and find out if they were indeed genuine because I got a pretty good deal on them.

This in itself was an embarrassing situation.

Oh the shame of having to walk into a high end designer store to ask if my purchased shoes (which did not line their pockets I might add) were counterfeit/knock-offs/fakeries!

*shudders*

I was nervous…

Luckily, I had the most helpful (snob myth dispelling) assistant M ‘…I can understand why you bought them, they sold out EVERYWHERE’ she told me.
M at first thought they were press samples (these fakers even tried to trick a pro dagnammit!) as samples are cut slightly differently to retailed goods. She then checked with the press office… indeed they were fakes. M then wrote me a letter to send to the seller (with the damn fakers) detailing that the shoes:

‘Were never produced by YSL’

*shudders*

I died.

She also told me the dates of their sale (silver lining I suppose?)

Moral of the story is: Buy designer… at the store.

No lol, always check… do your research or don’t buy them at all. In my case I won’t be buying anymore designer shoes on ‘the bay’, not even these

True story.

A couple of newies...

Christopher Parnell denim extreme shoulder pad shirt £25 via eBay
Zara sequin shoulder pad jumper £29.90

Also, I've been looking for the perfect pair of black cigarette style ankle grazing trousers for what seems like forever. Any suggestions to put me out of my misery would be most welcome.

I'm back!!

And I missed you...

Just a quick post to let you know that I am selling my Christian Louboutin Ariella studded ankle boots on ebay. It kills me to part with them, but I've managed to track down a pair of studded Chloe boots a la Miss Wasson, and with an eye watering price tag, I had to get rid of something!

If anyone is interested you can find them here. They are a size 39 and are in perfect condition

* edit Boots have been sold!

As I returned from Tunisia earlier today and now feel like death, I'll have to give you all the goss and pictures later in the week lovers.

Leather

In my endless quest for the ‘perfect’ leather jacket, I nearly weed myself when I saw Zara’s new season leather jacket on ‘the bay’. So obviously it wasn’t my size and as it was on ebay already my luck was probably out... or so I thought. Haha!

I, Miss Platform Princess managed to snag the last size small in the entire west end of London (believe me I tried all four shops) *smiles and pats herself on back*.

Oh yeah!!!

So it is ridiculously overpriced for Zara, but you can’t put a price on soft leather.

Loves,

Shoe Personality cont...

I thought I’d post some of my shoes. Not particularly ones I like most, more ones I’ve been wearing most recently. I’ve found that skyscraper heels + cold weather do not really agree with me, and have therefore been breaking out my wedges with tights, for comforts sake! At the moment, I’m having a clear out; selling some golden oldies on eBay, giving some to charity (yes, I give) and totally lusting over (hint hint Christmas pressie) Dior patent ankle boots.
I've realised that most of my coloured shoes have gone into hiding and I'm wearing mostly French Sole flats. I’m also wandering what the acceptable height difference is for a woman wearing heels and her date. Let me know/see pics of your favourite shoes:

Here are some dresses that I've been fond of recently too, and a sequined skirt that I’m having trouble being imaginative with!

You know you’re a shopaholic when...

1. You call Marlboro at 12am and ask her to explain the difference between cotton, rayon and wool.
2. You wake your (sick) sister from sleep and ask her to explain the difference between cotton, rayon and wool.
3. You interrupt your mother mid international telephone call to ask her to look down your top at your label, and then when not satisfied, ask her to explain the difference between cotton, rayon and wool.

All because you 'need' to buy a boyfriend blazer on eBay (because you no longer shop in real life) there are 10 minutes left, and your hand is hovering over the bid button... and it's 12 midnight!
